G-d, Mossad, or Gravity? Why Prophecy Is No Conspiracy

Intelligence agencies may try to manufacture the future, but relying on managed panic is a poor substitute for the Jewish destiny we refuse to claim

In the early years of the State, it was easy to point to a singular vision—a “Ben-Gurion doctrine”—that ruthlessly pulled strings to gather exiles from the four corners of the earth.

But today, with that generation long gone, the clarity of that vision has been replaced by a terrifying ambiguity. When chaos erupts—a bomb in Baghdad, a riot in Amsterdam, or a sudden wave of antisemitism in New York—the comfortable assumption is that these are random spasms of hate.

In a recent investigation into “Managed Panic,” I suggested a darker possibility: that some of these crises are “managed,” nudged by intelligence agencies blurring the line between predicting Jewish migration and actively manufacturing the panic required to trigger it.

A reader, however, wrote back to challenge the scope of my accusation. He did not deny the manipulation; he questioned the rank of the manipulator. His feedback struck with the force of a philosophical hammer: “Now that Ben-Gurion is dead, who is running the masterplan?”

“I don’t buy that things just happen organically,” he wrote, invoking the destruction of the Temple and the exiles of old. “HaShem destroyed the Beit HaMikdash by causing Nebuchadnezzar to have expansionist ideas. History is nothing other than HaShem’s Hand.”

In this reader’s view, the modern landscape of “managed panic”—from the Lavon Affair of the 1950s to the inexplicable currents of antisemitism rising today—is indeed a script. But the scriptwriter is not a Mossad case officer in Tel Aviv; it is the Creator Himself, employing modern-day Sennacheribs and Nebuchadnezzars to squeeze the Jewish people out of the diaspora and back to their ancestral home. Even Donald Trump, the reader mused, is merely a businessman playing a role he does not understand, coveting Gaza for real estate while unwittingly serving a Divine demographic shift.

This theological challenge forces us to confront an uncomfortable triad in Jewish history: the Spy who manipulates us, the Steamroller that crushes us, and the Shepherd we have yet to fully embrace.

While it is undeniably true that the Creator is the guide of world history, the mechanism by which He manifests that will depends entirely on us. The debate is not over who is in charge, but over how we choose to be led.

The Mechanics of Spiritual Gravity

To the conspiratorial mind, history is a series of backroom deals. To the sociological mind, it is organic momentum. In my initial response to the reader, I suggested that the “masterplan” is not necessarily being run by a secret cabal, but rather by a “steamroller”—the collective, unsustainable will of nations acting out their nature. We see pleasure-seeking European societies willing to arm their enemies for oil, driven by a hedonistic momentum they cannot arrest even as it destroys them.

This creates an historical inevitability. Our prophets were able to predict end-of-history scenarios not because they had a crystal ball, but because the spiritual genetics of Esav and Ishmael were revealed to them. They saw that a civilization built on material excess or violent conquest has a trajectory as predictable as gravity. When we get in the way of that trajectory, we get crushed.

However, the reader is correct that G-d is the driver of this steamroller. The Talmud teaches that redemption can come in two ways: b’itah (in its fixed time, often accompanied by great suffering) or achishenah (hastened, through our merit). When we are passive, when we grow comfortable in exile, the “G-d of History” releases the steamroller. He utilizes the primitive modernity of our enemies and the cold calculations of intelligence agencies to make the diaspora untenable.

However, we must refine the reader’s premise. G-d does not necessarily need to “script” every crisis like a puppet master. Rather, He established the laws of history just as He established the laws of physics. The steamroller is simply spiritual gravity.

When a nation abandons its purpose, it begins to fall… B’itah is what happens when we let gravity take over. When we are passive, when we grow comfortable in exile, the “walls” of our protection mechanically crumble. The “panic” is not a punishment actively managed by a vengeful Deity so much as it is a mechanical failure resulting from our own inaction. It is the default setting of a people who refuse to generate the lift required to fly.

The Trap of the ‘Benevolent’ King

There is a profound danger, however, in accepting this “managed panic” as the ideal. The reader suggested that rather than coming home, Diaspora Jews might simply “tuck down” and wait out the next election cycle, hoping a political savior “like Trump” will defeat the threat of terror at the ballot box. This sentiment reflects a recurring tragedy in Jewish political thought: the reliance on a “benevolent” Sennacherib.

This is not merely a political miscalculation; it is a spiritual failure of submission. We see this hubris in our own leadership, specifically the secular security establishment—the “Generals”—who view the Jewish people not as a Chosen Nation but as a demographic problem to be solved with fences, disengagement plans, and border walls built by the very enemies sworn to destroy us. As noted previously, there is a “Zionist autoimmune disorder” at play when we rely on foreign approvals—fighting wars only when the moral permission slip comes from Washington or the Hague, not from the Covenant with the Creator.

If we view Trump, or the UN, or even the Mossad as the primary engines of our salvation, we are essentially waiting for a “business deal” to redeem us. We are waiting for the nations to decide that it is profitable to let us live, or profitable to let us win.

But as the reader astutely noted, a businessman wants Gaza for business. When the profit margin shifts, so does the policy. Relying on the “managed panic” of the nations or the “managed chaos” of our own agencies is a trap that keeps us in a perpetual state of reaction, forever dodging the steamroller but never steering the car.

By looking to Trump, or the UN, or even the Mossad as the primary engines of our salvation, we are abdicating our sovereignty. We are submitting to the idea that our survival is a “business deal” to be negotiated by others. This trap of the “Benevolent King” keeps us in a state of perpetual adolescence, waiting for permission to survive rather than taking the responsibility to live.

The Shepherd’s Path: Generating Lift

We do not have to wait for the panic. We do not have to wait for the next manufactured crisis or the next wave of antisemitism to remind us who we are. There is a third option, one that bypasses both the Spy and the Steamroller: the path of the Shepherd.

We do not have to be victims of gravity. This is the path of achishenah—hastening the redemption through proactive merit and trust. But this merit is not abstract. Just as an airplane defies gravity through the laws of aerodynamics, the Jewish people defy the steamroller through the specific, actionable laws of the Torah.

As outlined in the Jewish sources, we have the capacity to awaken the dawn rather than waiting for the sun to burn us awake. This requires a fundamental shift from “Crisis Zionism”—which relies on persecution to fuel immigration—to a “Radiant Zionism” driven by genuine Torah leadership.

We need leaders who do not view the Land of Israel as a strategic asset or a piece of real estate to be bartered, but as the only place where the Jewish soul can breathe.

We need a leadership that admits the failures of the past and embraces a humble, proactive trust in the Creator. This leadership understands that policies such as settling Judea and Samaria are not right-wing “preferences”—they are spiritual necessities. They are the structural beams required to hold up the house.

This means settling Judea and Samaria not because a US President creates a “window of opportunity,” but because it is our eternal mandate. It means fighting our wars without waiting for the “rules” of asymmetric warfare to be rewritten by our critics. It means rejecting the “culture of applause” from a hostile world and seeking validation only from the Covenant that defines us.

Writing Our Own History

The “Masterplan” is indeed running, and the “G-d of History” is indeed in charge. But He has given us the pen.

We can leave the script in the hands of the “intelligence” agencies, who will continue to predict—and perhaps manufacture—a future of fear to keep the demographic machinery moving. We can leave it in the hands of the “Sennacheribs,” who will move us around like pawns on a chessboard of oil and real estate.

Or, we can seize the narrative.

We can choose the path of the Shepherd—a leadership of vision, faith, and unapologetic Jewish sovereignty.

If we choose the latter, the panic does not need to be managed, because the redemption will be embraced.

The steamroller only crushes what refuses to move; for a nation that is already running toward its destiny, the steamroller is nothing more than the road being paved behind them.
