Jewish Agency Chairman Major General Doron Almog has announced Israel is “expecting” about a million new Jewish immigrants fleeing their lands to arrive in Israel.
Speaking to Israel’s News 12, Almog said: “During the next few years, we expect to see a million new immigrants as a result of the rising anti-Semitism directed against Jewish communities around the world.”
His announcement was presented in Israeli media as a result of “European anti-Semitism,” especially near Muslim population concentrations.
- What roles and methods have been used by the Jewish Agency before and during past Israel immigration waves?
- What have been the current Jewish Agency chairman’s past roles and methods?
- And how does the Jewish Agency know that one million Jews may soon be fleeing their lands, to enable it to issue confident policy recommendations based on this cataclysmic assessment?
The next installment in this series will examine the historical aspect of Jewish Agency policy vis-à-vis Jewish Diaspora communities by revisiting Operation Suzanna, the 1950’s plan by Israel to foment a fifth column inside Egypt to blow up Egyptian civil and military installations and disrupt Egypt’s ability to effectively wage war, and the “Golden Rule” that purportedly emerged from that disastrous affair.
Part Three will examine how and why during 1950-1951, over 90% of Iraq’s flourishing Jewish community of 130,000 emigrated to Israel.
Part Four will ask whether today’s Jewish Agency is playing a provocative or reactive role by examining one important clue: The Agency is chaired by the same IDF general who, in 1993, commanded IDF forces in Gaza tasked with withdrawing from approximately 80 percent of that territory, and who, as IDF Southern Commander (2000-2003), was a leading proponent of Israel’s technological barrier strategy to wall off Judea, Samaria, and Gaza.
The series will conclude with Part Five, entitled Come home now, and claim your part in Jewish History.
